‘DWTS’ Maks Chmerkovskiy Plans Christmas Movie with Candace Cameron Bure

Great American Family has just announced their Great American Christmas 2024 movie lineup, set to premiere on October 17. Among the various highlights, “Dancing With The Stars” pro Maks Chmerkovskiy expressed a keen interest in working on a Christmas movie with Candace Cameron Bure.

Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram on Friday to unveil the People cover that features the new lineup. She enthusiastically wrote, “THE BIG REVEAL 🎄🎁✨ Great American Christmas is so close you can smell it…and it smells like warm chocolate chip cookies, a wood burning fire, and fresh pine 😉Head to people.com to see the FULL lineup coming your way ❤️💚”. In response, Maksim Chmerkovskiy commented, “Can I be in the next one?? 🙋🏻‍♂️”.

“Dancing With The Stars” fans will recall that back in 2014, Candace partnered with Mark Ballas while Maks won the season with Meryl Davis. Candace and Mark secured third place that season. Once her stint on “DWTS” ended, Candace shifted her focus to romantic comedies on the Hallmark Channel, eventually transitioning to the Great American Family (GAF) network in 2022.

Maks is likely aware that his fellow “DWTS” pro Gleb Savchenko has made appearances in GAF projects. Gleb starred in “Swing Into Romance” alongside former “DWTS” contestant Danica McKellar and choreographed her upcoming Christmas movie, “A Cinderella Christmas,” which is part of the Great American Christmas 2024 lineup. Maks seems to recognize an opportunity when he sees one, especially considering Gleb and Danica have worked together on multiple occasions. This could provide inspiration for Maks to collaborate with Candace Cameron Bure, either in a choreography capacity or as an actor, or possibly even both.

Maks has dabbled in acting before, having made cameo appearances in “Fuller House” with Candace. Moreover, his acting credits include roles in “Chasing Life,” “The Exes,” “General Hospital,” and “Why Women Kill.” His previous acting experience could certainly pave the way for a successful transition into a Christmas movie alongside Candace.

As the festive season approaches, networks, including Great American Family, continue to produce holiday movies year-round. Currently, former “DWTS” contestants Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison are filming a 2024 movie titled “Home Sweet Christmas.”

For fans of “Dancing With The Stars,” the prospect of seeing Maks in a Christmas film with Candace Cameron Bure is an exciting possibility. It remains to be seen whether they will collaborate, but their potential pairing is certainly a buzzworthy topic.
