Eddie Murphy Marries Paige Butcher After 12 Years Together

Eddie Murphy is a married man once again. The 63-year-old legendary actor and his partner, Australian model Paige Butcher, tied the knot earlier this week on Tuesday, July 9, as confirmed by PEOPLE.

The couple, who began dating in 2012 and got engaged in 2018, chose the picturesque island of Anguilla in the Eastern Caribbean as their wedding destination. The ceremony was a small private affair, attended by close family and friends.

This joyful event follows the success of Murphy’s latest endeavor, the nostalgic release of “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.” At the premiere last month, Murphy was accompanied by his then-fiancée, Paige Butcher, and his daughters Bria Murphy, Shayne Audra Murphy, and Bella Murphy. These daughters are from his previous marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy.

The couple has always kept their relationship relatively low-key. Their love story began in 2012, and they made their first red carpet appearance together at the premiere of Spike TV’s tribute, “Eddie Murphy: One Night Only.”

In 2016, the couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Izzy Oona, who is now 8 years old. Their son, Max Charles, was born two years later and is now 5. Eddie Murphy, known for his iconic roles in films like “Coming to America,” is a father of ten in total. “They live a pretty low-key life. They are all about family. Paige is very close to Eddie’s kids,” a source revealed to PEOPLE during the announcement of their second pregnancy.

Murphy’s family is quite extensive. His oldest child, Eric Murphy, was born on July 10, 1989, to his ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely. From his first marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, he has Bria, 34, Miles Mitchell, 31, Christian Murphy, 33, Shayne Audra, 29, Zola Ivy Murphy, 24, and Bella.

In addition, Murphy shares son Christian, who was born in November 1990, with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood. His youngest daughter, Angel, was born in April 2007, with Melanie Brown.
