Eminem, Juicy J, Snot & More: Fresh Hip-Hop Projects

New music energy hits the hip-hop sphere this weekend. Key releases include a highly anticipated album from a Detroit legend, a collaborative project by two Memphis artists, and a fresh drop from a dedicated hoodie-wearing rapper.

After months of teasing, Eminem has dropped his 12th studio album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce).” This 20-track project features singles “Houdini” and “Tobey,” with collaborations from Big Sean and BabyTron. The album includes a sequel to the 1999 hit “Guilty Conscience.” Its release was initially announced by Dr. Dre on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in March. Eminem confirmed it shortly after and promoted it through creative methods like a newspaper obituary and a true-crime-themed trailer. The album’s YouTube trailer, which hints at Slim Shady’s possible retirement, has also stirred significant excitement.

From Memphis, Juicy J and Xavier Wulf have unveiled their joint album “Memphis Zoo.” Though details about the project were limited, Juicy J took to Instagram earlier this week to alert fans of its release. The album features 12 tracks and highlights an appearance from Project Pat. Production credits include work by Hitkidd and Juicy J himself.

$NOT returns from Florida’s rap scene with his fourth studio album, “Viceroy.” Known for his consistent hoodie-clad appearance, $NOT teased the album on Instagram, showing himself in a moment of relaxation from his music grind. “Viceroy” offers tracks like “Bully” and “Hilarious,” with the latter featuring Cochise. Currently, $NOT is also on the Get Busy or Die Tour, sharing the stage with Baby Kia, FourFive, Cochise, and others.
