Eminem’s New Song Shocks With Cruel Lyric About Halyna Hutchins’ Death

Some former Eminem fans wondered about his whereabouts for a few years after the novelty of his rebellious act waned and his music lost some of its impact. Now, it seems many would have preferred not being reminded of his existence. On X, formerly known as Twitter, the “8 Mile” star faced backlash for referencing Halyna Hutchins’ tragic death in a flippant manner. “Eminem is a vile, horrible human being. The shooting death of a real person should not be used as a punchline in a stupid ‘edgy’ rap. Pathetic,” one user tweeted. Another reaction read, “Old white guy rapping for relevance. Desperate and embarrassing.”

Netizens were also taken aback by the “Fuel” lyrics, which showed no signs of Marshall Mathers maturing as a person. “I thought Eminem was better than that now, guess I was wrong,” commented another user on X. The title of Eminem’s new album suggests he has laid his provocative persona to rest, yet his incendiary lyrics seem as though they could have been written by one of those Slim Shadys who are just imitating.

If only the man who introduced the term “stan” would create something worth “stanning” over for his dedicated fans.
