Entitlement and Ego Are Out of Control

Ice Spice and Cleotrapa have been caught in a heated exchange over alleged mistreatment during Ice Spice’s Y2K Tour. The Bronx rapper’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., has stepped in to clarify the ongoing claims.

Cleotrapa has accused Ice Spice of being manipulative, stating that she was invited on tour merely as a PR move to clean up Ice Spice’s reputation after disparaging texts about Nicki Minaj were leaked. She claims she was given only one day’s notice before agreeing to join the tour and was assured that she would be “taken care of” during it. However, Cleotrapa alleges that she ended up having to pay for almost all of her expenses out of her pocket and that she was mistreated.

In response, Rosemond Jr. emphasized that his team offered Cleotrapa an “opportunity,” and it was up to her management to make a rational decision about participating in the tour. He pointed out that openers do not receive the same treatment as headliners and that investing in oneself often means covering expenses for such opportunities. “The entitlement and ego are crazy,” he stated, adding that artists and their teams need to know how to leverage such opportunities to advance their careers. He criticized some artists for not knowing how to produce hits and ending up on public rants instead.

Rosemond Jr. also revealed that he had been in contact with Cleotrapa’s management, who he claims acknowledged that their client was in the wrong. He suggested that Cleotrapa was seeking virality rather than resolving the issue through private discussions, highlighting that there are different business models for acts touring together.

In a five-part TikTok series, Cleotrapa recounted her struggles during the tour, claiming she had to change in public bathrooms, pay for hotel rooms herself, and ultimately was not compensated. In her video, she stated, “You actually have one time to show me that you are jealous, intimidated, untrustworthy, fake, disloyal, ingenuine, manipulative, and calculated.”

Addressing the issue, Ice Spice echoed sentiments similar to her manager. During a chat on Spaces, she remarked, “Crashing out is sad you guys. The scary part of fame honestly is the moment that somebody feels like they can no longer use your platform or like they’re not getting exactly what they want out of a situation the way that they want it… That’s when they decide to crash out every single time. I’m noticing a pattern.”
