Epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen Begins with Megumi’s Return

Jujutsu Kaisen is inching closer to concluding its manga run, with the latest chapter setting the stage for its epilogue featuring Megumi Fushiguro’s return. The announcement that Gege Akutami’s original manga series would wrap up in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine later this month has fans eagerly counting down to the grand finale. During the Shinjuku Showdown arc, Yuji Itadori and his allies faced intense battles against Sukuna, and that fight has finally concluded.

The recent chapter marks a significant victory for Yuji, thanks in part to the surprise assistance from Nobara Kugisaki. But Nobara is not the only returning character as Megumi also makes his much-anticipated return to the series. With the combined efforts of Yuji and Nobara, they succeed in separating Sukuna from Megumi’s body, freeing him from the curse’s grasp.

In Chapter 268, after Nobara uses Resonance on Sukuna, Megumi engages in a final internal confrontation with Sukuna within his own body. During this tumultuous moment, Sukuna questions how Megumi can continue living after the trials he’s endured: his body being taken over, his sister’s death, previously rejecting help, and witnessing Yuji’s mass slaughter. Despite these horrific experiences, Megumi finds a measure of comfort in the fact that Sukuna appears desperate and likely unable to return.

With Sukuna now separated and the curse dissipating, Megumi starts moving forward with his life. Reuniting with Yuji and Nobara, he discovers a note from Satoru Gojo, confessing that he killed Megumi’s father, Toji. This revelation, instead of breaking him, elicits laughter from Megumi. It’s another transformation in his life, and it becomes a new motivation for him to live for others. The series has been nothing short of chaotic, but the upcoming epilogue seems poised to bring Megumi a sense of peace before the story concludes.
