Eva Longoria embraced the blue wave in Victoria Beckham for the final day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The actress wore a body-con dress featuring a V neckline mirrored by a V-shaped drop waist seam, pleating details, and draped short sleeves.
Longoria’s dress was from Victoria Beckham’s fall 2024 collection, which, as previously reported, was “a more elevated collection from the designer with real standouts, particularly in the outerwear and knitwear departments.” The actress is a longtime friend of Beckham and has worn dresses created by the designer on many occasions.
Longoria was one of the final speakers at the Democratic National Convention. During her speech, the “Desperate Housewives” actress drew comparisons between her and Kamala Harris’ families, saying they both grew up knowing they would have to “touch every rung of the ladder to get ahead.” The actress also started a new chant, appealing to Latin voters.
“In our community, we have a saying: ‘Si, se puede!’ which means, ‘Yes, we can,’” said Longoria, referencing former President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign slogan. “But tonight, I’m here to tell you, ‘Yes, she can,’ so we’re gonna say, ‘She se puede.’”
The 2024 Democratic National Convention took place in Chicago from Monday to Thursday. Held to officially nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate and affirm her choice of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for vice president, the event also had its share of fashion statements.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama took the stage in a Monse crisscross jacket, Jill Biden sparkled in a custom Ralph Lauren dress and Hillary Clinton brought her signature style in a tweed suit. Ella Emhoff, daughter of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and Ashley Biden, daughter of President Joe Biden, also embraced luxury fashion for the convention, with Ella wearing Thom Browne and Ashley going all-white in Gabriela Hearst.
Other notable fashion moments included Kerry Washington favoring sustainable luxury in Santicler’s crocheted polo and skirt set, and Tim Walz’s daughter Hope wrapping into a Tanya Taylor’s midi dress with hand-painted floral prints. The convergence of politics and fashion highlighted not just significant speeches and endorsements but a showcase of unique and inspiring styles worn by prominent figures.
