Every TV Show, Movie, and Original on Netflix This Week (Sept 2)

Netflix’s streaming library is set to welcome even more titles as we move further into September. The month kicked off with numerous fan-favorite additions like “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.” In the new week, 13 more titles will be added to the September 2024 content list, including a mix of licensed content and fresh Netflix originals.

Among the new arrivals are “Call the Midwife: Series 13” and “The Hughleys: Seasons 1-4.” In addition, Netflix is rolling out 11 new original pieces. One of the most anticipated documentaries, “Apollo 13: Survival,” makes its debut alongside “Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas.” Comedy enthusiasts can look forward to Phil Wang’s special, “Wang in There, Baby.” Moreover, the week promises the return of beloved Netflix original reality series, such as “Last One Standing,” which is back for a third season, “Selling Sunset” premiering its eighth season, and the survival reality competition “Outlast,” now in its second season.

Subscribers can access these new titles and more by choosing from one of Netflix’s three subscription plans: the basic plan with ads ($7 per month), the standard plan ($15.50 per month), and the premium plan ($20 per month). While all three plans provide access to the complete Netflix streaming library, content availability is somewhat limited on the basic plan with ads. Here is a detailed look at some of the exciting new content set to hit the streaming library this week.

“Last One Standing” Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 3. This Netflix series, hosted by Chidori, features comedians sharing personal stories with a twist. If they’re not funny, they’re immediately eliminated. The show’s unique format, combined with dramatic segments where comedians face challenges with accomplished actors, has won a broad fanbase. Season 2, set in a hospital amid a conspiracy-laden organization, captivated viewers and topped Netflix’s “Today’s TV Program Top 10” following its release.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, “Outlast” Season 2 returns. This raw survival competition series drops 16 lone wolf experts into the Alaskan wilderness, where they must outlast each other to win a million-dollar prize. The only rule is they must remain part of a team to claim the victory.

Thursday, Sept. 5, marks the debut of “Apollo 13: Survival,” a Netflix documentary chronicling NASA’s greatest crisis just nine months after Neil Armstrong’s moon landing. The documentary revisits the ordeal of three astronauts stranded halfway to the moon following a catastrophic explosion on their spacecraft.

Also premiering on Thursday is “Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas.” This Netflix documentary delves into the dark underbelly of Mexico City, where women, seeking better lives, become entangled in an online escort network, culminating in horrific femicides.

“Netflix” will also bring back its reality series “Selling Sunset” with Season 8 on Friday, Sept. 6. Set in the high-stakes world of LA’s luxury real estate, the show follows seven successful female realtors working at The Oppenheim Group. Known for its blend of luxe real estate and high drama, the new season promises sleek penthouse listings, personality clashes, and plenty of shade.

Additional content being added this week includes “Call the Midwife: Series 13,” “The Hughleys: Seasons 1-4,” and the Netflix Live Event “Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef,” all available from Sept. 2. On Sept. 3, look out for “Phil Wang: Wang in There, Baby!” and the documentary “Untold: Hope Solo vs. U.S. Soccer.” Sept. 5 will see the arrival of “The Perfect Couple” series. Finally, Netflix films “Disco, Ibiza, Locomía” and “Rebel Ridge” will be available on Sept. 6.

As Netflix continues to add new content, it’s also saying goodbye to a few titles. This week, the streamer will remove five TV series and movies, including “Beverly Hills Cop” and its sequel “Beverly Hills Cop II,” bidding them farewell on Sept. 3. Following closely, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” Seasons 1-4, “iZombie” Seasons 1-5, and “Jane The Virgin” Seasons 1-5 will leave the platform on Sept. 5.
