Chris Rock will narrate the series as “Adult Chris,” with Tim Johnson Jr. providing the voice for the younger version of Chris.

The original show, Everybody Hates Chris, was a live-action series based on Rock’s real-life experiences. It aired on UPN and The CW from 2005 to 2009.

Rock is also an executive producer for the new animated series, which highlights his “experience growing up as a skinny nerd in a large working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during the late 1980s.”

The voice cast for the upcoming series includes notable names such as Terry Crews, who plays Chris’ father, Julius, and Tichina Arnold as Chris’ mother, Rochelle. Other cast members include Ozioma Akagha as his sister Tonya, Terrence Little Gardenhigh as his brother Drew, and Gunnar Sizemore as his best friend Greg.

The animated series is scheduled to premiere on September 25 at 10 p.m. EDT on Comedy Central.

All four seasons of the original Everybody Hates Chris are currently available to stream on Paramount+.
