Eyewitness: Pax Jolie-Pitt’s Mouth ‘Filled With Blood’ After E-Bike Accident

Published: 10:52 PM PDT, August 5, 2024.

New details are emerging regarding Pax Jolie-Pitt’s electric bike accident in Los Angeles last week, which left the 20-year-old in the ICU with a head injury.

On Monday, ET spoke with Lola Cavalli, one of the first responders at the scene of the accident on July 29. Cavalli shared insights into Pax’s condition immediately following the crash.

Cavalli explained that she called 9-1-1 and was instructed on how to assess Pax’s wounds. She was advised to stop any visible bleeding until medics could arrive. “I didn’t see any broken bones or profuse bleeding,” she noted. “Since I was told to apply pressure where it was bleeding, I didn’t know where to put it on the head. It was a head injury.”

“It wasn’t a lot of blood; you didn’t see a fountain of blood rushing out,” Cavalli added. “But his mouth was filled with blood, and when he tried to speak, a small stream of blood came out of his mouth.”

She said that an immediate concern was oncoming traffic. “He was in the middle of an intersection, and no one behind us could see what was happening,” she recalled. “I took control of the traffic to ensure he wasn’t run over by another car and to protect myself as well.”

“We did everything we thought necessary to make sure the ambulance could arrive quickly and that oncoming traffic continued to move, instead of piling up, which would block the ambulance’s approach,” she explained.

According to the LAPD, paramedics were called to an accident at Hobart and Los Feliz Boulevard around 5 p.m. An e-bike had rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light. The e-bike rider, later identified as Pax Jolie-Pitt, was transported to a local hospital with a severe head injury but was conscious and alert.

ET learned Monday morning that the son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is on the mend. “Pax has been released from the ICU,” a close family friend told ET. “He suffered complex trauma and now begins the long road of recovery and physical therapy.”

Sources revealed that Angelina Jolie is by her son’s side during his recovery, with his siblings also being supportive. Brad and Angelina share six children—three biological: Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15, and three adopted: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19.

“Pax and Angelina are deeply grateful for the quick and life-saving actions of first responders and the exceptional medical care he received,” the family friend added.
