Fans Call Travis Kelce’s Training Camp Look a ‘Taylor Swift Glow Up’

Travis Kelce’s recent appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp had fans buzzing with speculation about a possible Taylor Swift influence. The star football player arrived in St. Joseph, Mo., looking notably different from his previous public appearances. The training camp officially kicked off on Sunday, July 21, with the team sharing video footage of key players like Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes geared up and ready for action.

Kelce, who was recently spotted at Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Germany and the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament, surprised fans with a fresh look. He had grown out his mustache while shaving his beard and letting his hair grow a bit longer. This was a stark contrast to his look during last year’s training camp when he kept his hair short and sported both a mustache and a beard.

When the Chiefs posted a video of Kelce on X, formerly known as Twitter, they announced the “return of El Travador,” a nickname Kelce earned for similar past looks. The nickname was also used by Kelce’s New Heights podcast as it reshared the video on the platform.

Fans had mixed reactions to Kelce’s new appearance. Some praised the look; one fan commented, “He really is one of the most handsome men on earth, ain’t he.” Another enthusiastically posted, “Lookin’ good, Travador!! Can’t wait for football!” A third chimed in with a playful note, “Live laugh love @tkelce’s alter ego with da mustache, El Travador.”

One fan even drew a humorous comparison between Kelce and Tom Selleck by posting side-by-side photos of Kelce’s latest look and a snapshot of the Blue Bloods star. Another fan shared images contrasting Kelce’s current look with his appearance at last year’s Chiefs training camp, attributing the transformation to “a Taylor Swift glow up.”

However, not all fans were thrilled with the return of Kelce’s “mustache era.” Several X users urged him to “please remove” it, suggesting that a three-day beard suited him better. One fan simply commented, “Sigh, that damn mustache.”

As training camp progresses, Kelce and his teammates are expected to stay busy with preparations for the upcoming season. The first pre-season game is scheduled for August 10.

Training camp is always a period of anticipation, and Kelce’s new look has certainly added an extra layer of excitement for fans of both football and his pop superstar girlfriend.
