Fans Choose Camila’s ‘Regresa’ as This Week’s Favorite New Latin Music

Camila’s first set in five years, Regresa, has topped this week’s new music Latin poll.

In a poll published on Friday (Aug. 2), music fans voted for the Mexican trio’s comeback album, Regresa, as their favorite music release of the week. The poll was part of the weekly New Music Latin roundup and playlist, curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors.

Regresa generated over 80% of the votes, beating out other new releases that dropped that week. These included Edén Muñoz’s “NTP,” La Doña’s “Confesiones,” Luis R Conriquez, Tony Aguirre and Kevin Santin’s “Tacha$ & Tu$$i,” and Justin Quiles’ new album, Permanente.

Coming in second place was JAZE’s “mil procedimientos.”

With the 10-track set, the pop ensemble — composed of Mario Domm, Samuel “Samo” Parra, and Pablo Hurtado — maintains its original essence of pop ballads but also experiments with other styles. These include romantic pop tunes, rock progressions, shades of blues, and even mariachi.

Highlights from the album include “Diamantes y Amaranto” and the powerful “Corazón en Coma” featuring Edén Muñoz. The album also features emotional lyrics in the best style of the trio.

“We have worked hard to create something truly special,” Hurtado said in a statement. “This album is not only a return to our roots, but also a leap forward to the future.”

Last week, music fans crowned Grupo Frontera and Romeo Santos’ bachata track “Ángel,” their first collaborative effort, as the winner, bringing in more than 42% of the votes.
