Only Murders in the Building is back for season four – and this time the gang is heading to Hollywood following the mysterious disappearance of Charles’ good friend Sazz. However, viewers quickly learn that the poor stuntwoman was murdered in Charles’ apartment, a revelation that hits the trio hard by the end of episode one. The burning question for fans is: who killed Sazz?

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts. One fan said, “Just finished episode 1 of season 4 of Only Murders in the Building and I absolutely loved it! I’ve missed my emotional support trio so much! REAL television is back.” Another added, “Can’t wait! My parents and I love watching this show together.”

A third fan noted, “Never thought anything would be able to top the very first episode of Only Murders in the Building. I love to be proven wrong.” Another fan concluded, “The new season of Only Murders in the Building is a big improvement on the last one, and it might just be my favorite since season one. This is a show that knows exactly what it is and what it wants to be. There’s even more confidence now, four seasons in, and rightly so.”

Who did it this time?

In the episode, the gang realizes that Sazz had been murdered in Charles’ apartment after Grave-y, the cadaver dog, barked in the apartment and the janitor received an anonymous note to replace a window with a bullet hole in it. This leads to the obvious inquiry: who would have murdered her and why?

The immediate theory is that the murderer was actually targeting Charles, since Sazz, Charles’ stunt double, was in his apartment dressed similarly to him at the time of the murder. Despite making numerous enemies in past seasons, all the suspects from those periods are currently behind bars.

Eva Longoria is a guest star – but is she also a murder suspect?!

Sazz seems to have known something crucial to warn Charles about. When the trio visits her home, they find hints that she had been investigating the Arconia building. The mystery deepens as they try to piece together what Sazz was planning to reveal.

During the season four premiere, a killer impersonates Sazz by texting Charles, eventually revealing, “You are not your [expletive] friend” when queried about their identity. This adds fuel to the fire of speculation about who the key suspects might be.

Since Sazz lives in Los Angeles, and Charles, Olivier, and Mabel visit La La Land following the purchase of their podcast’s film rights, many new characters come into play. Potential suspects include Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, and Zach Galifianakis, all playing versions of themselves. Additionally, the studio director and screenwriter, as well as the Brothers sisters directors, are all plausible candidates.

Could the LA film executives be involved?

The show also introduces Howard, a friendly resident of the Arconia who has a new dog. Howard has assisted the trio in the past, but his sudden appearance might be more than just a coincidence.

Could Howard be the culprit?

Charles himself remains a person of interest. In the season three finale, he goes to collect a bottle of wine, but we see Sazz take his place for unexplained reasons. This mysterious switch could be related to Sazz’s murder.

Did Charles murder Sazz?

Another significant suspect is Joy, Charles’ former fiancée who starts dating Scott Bakula, whom Charles encounters at a Hollywood party. Their conversation touches on Sazz’s whereabouts, but could it be a distraction from the real reason Scott was introduced to the show?

Scott’s strange behavior, like holding his phone as if to take a photo, and the fact that Sazz was scheduled to be his body double but didn’t show up, are critical details. Considering that a mysterious person had already been texting the trio pretending to be Sazz, Scott’s knowledge of her schedule adds another layer of complexity.

Could Joy be the murderer?

As the season progresses, viewers will be on the edge of their seats, trying to piece together the puzzle and figure out who among these suspects is the real killer.
