Fiancé of Princess Martha Louise, Durek Verrett, reveals sister saved his life

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and her partner, Durek Verrett, are delighting in their pre-wedding preparations as their big day nears. However, the charismatic spiritual healer has faced significant challenges in his journey.

Shaman Durek, 49, has endured numerous health issues throughout his life. He shared in an exclusive interview, “I’ve had a lot of blood pressure issues and have been prone to infections since I was a kid. I lived in countries such as Israel during wars and suffered physical abuse as a child – a lot of these elements broke down my system.”

At the age of 28, Durek’s health took a drastic turn when he experienced renal failure. “My body couldn’t take it anymore. I ended up in hospital where I had a near-death experience.”

Recalling the terrifying experience, Durek added, “I flatlined seven times and the eighth time the doctor brought me back. I was in a medically induced coma for two months, and then I was on dialysis for eight years.”

Fortunately, Durek’s older sister, Angelina, relocated to Los Angeles with her husband to care for him. “I was in a wheelchair but thanks to the care she gave me, I got stronger,” Durek said.

Angelina’s dedication went further when she donated one of her kidneys to Durek in 2012. Despite the lifesaving procedure, the shaman still requires dialysis to this day.

“Märtha and I have weathered many storms but now we feel we can do anything together – it’s made us stronger,” Durek expressed.

Durek’s work as a healer has occasionally been met with skepticism. “My work continues to be misrepresented, and if something is repeated in the press, people believe it,” he said.

Nevertheless, Princess Märtha Louise stands by her husband-to-be, stepping back from her royal duties to focus on the alternative medicine business Durek leads.

In her statement regarding the shift in her royal responsibilities, Princess Märtha Louise articulated her belief in both conventional and alternative medicine. “I am aware of the importance of research-based knowledge, but I believe alternative medicine can be an important supplement to help from the conventional medical establishment,” she said.
