The North Attleboro Fire Department announced via social media that the final bull was caught late Monday night. This particular bull was spotted near a Walmart in town that evening. The sighting triggered a coordinated pursuit involving local fire and police departments, as well as search teams from the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Mass Environmental Police, the New England Rodeo, animal rescue groups, and numerous volunteers.

Samantha Beckman from Wandering Paws K9 shared her surprise about the unusual situation, stating, “I have to say I’ve never went out looking for a lost bull. This is one for the books,” during an interview with WBZ-TV.

The bull led a thrilling chase that ended on Route 1, close to the Emerald Square Mall, where it was finally lassoed and loaded onto a trailer. The events that led to the escape of all eight bulls are still under investigation, leaving many unanswered questions about how the animals managed to flee.

The incident has raised concerns and drew criticism from animal rights activists. PETA, the animal rights organization, expressed its disapproval of rodeos in light of the escape. Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA, stated that “When bulls, who can be quite manageable and even gentle when not provoked, get the chance to escape being shocked with electric prods, wounded with sharp spurs, and slammed to the ground in rodeos, they take it as anyone else would.”

Reiman further added, “Rodeos put animal torment at center stage, and PETA urges people everywhere to stay away. Meanwhile, these bulls deserve to live.” The organization’s strong stance underscores the ongoing debate about animal rights within the context of traditional rodeo events.

The news of the bull escape has captured public attention, not only for the thrill of the chase but also for bringing to light issues surrounding animal welfare in rodeo practices. The successful capture of the bulls may have resolved the immediate situation, but discussions regarding the ethical implications of rodeos and the treatment of animals within these events are likely to continue.

As this incident unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the complexities involved in balancing entertainment with the welfare of animals. The thorough investigation into how the bulls escaped is still ongoing, and the findings may lead to changes in how rodeos are conducted in the future.

For now, the North Attleboro community can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the unexpected adventure has come to a close, with all eight bulls accounted for.
