First Look at Shadow the Hedgehog Manga Debut

Sonic the Hedgehog’s long-time rival, Shadow, is receiving his own manga series, and the first look at this new series has been unveiled. Shadow the Hedgehog has remained a significant character in SEGA’s long-running Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, featuring in various games, spinoffs, TV specials, and more. This fall, Shadow is set to make a major comeback with the release of Sonic x Shadow Generations. Alongside this new game, Shadow will also venture into the world of manga.

The Shadow the Hedgehog manga series was previously announced to begin serialization in Shogakukan’s Monthly Coro Coro Comics starting September 13th. Renowned artist Yuki Imada, known for Mini4King, will illustrate the series. Coro Coro has shared the first look at the new manga, featuring Shadow in a typically intense state. Shadow the Hedgehog will release on September 13th in Japan, with no current announcements regarding an international release. Details on the manga’s duration are also yet to be revealed. Coinciding with the manga’s launch, the game Sonic x Shadow Generations will release on October 25th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This new title includes fresh levels for Shadow, alongside the stages from the original Sonic Generations game.

SEGA has provided some intriguing hints about what fans can expect from this updated addition to the Sonic franchise. “Shadow the Hedgehog is back with Classic and Modern Sonic in SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS, an all-new collection featuring two unique experiences!
