First Look: ‘LotR: The War of the Rohirrim’ Photo Features Hera on Horseback

Warner Bros. is generating excitement for the upcoming film *The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim*. Set in the beloved *Lord of the Rings* universe, this anime movie promises to captivate audiences once again.

The studio recently released a photo featuring the character Héra, brought to life through the voice of Gaia Wise. The image depicts Héra, a princess and the daughter of Helm Hammerhand, King of Rohan, astride a majestic white horse.

Set 183 years before the events of the iconic *Lord of the Rings* trilogy, the film dives deep into the history of Helm Hammerhand and his lineage. The story unfolds with a sudden assault led by Wulf, a cunning and merciless Dunlending lord. Seeking to avenge his father’s death, Wulf launches an attack that forces Helm and his people to make a desperate last stand at the ancient mighty fortress of the Hornburg, later known as Helm’s Deep.

Facing increasingly dire circumstances, Héra must find the strength to lead the resistance against this formidable enemy bent on their utter annihilation.

*The War of the Rohirrim* is spearheaded by Japanese filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama, who has notable works like *Blade Runner: Black Lotus* and *Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex* under his belt. Peter Jackson, renowned for directing the *Lord of the Rings* and *The Hobbit* trilogies, serves as an executive producer for the anime film, further solidifying its high production value and storytelling caliber.

Fans will be thrilled to know that Miranda Otto, a cherished figure from the *Lord of the Rings* series, returns to narrate the new film as Éowyn. The stellar voice cast also includes Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Benjamin Wainwright, Laurence Ubong Williams, Shaun Dooley, Michael Wildman, Jude Akuwudike, Bilal Hasna, and Janine Duvitski.

Mark your calendars, as *The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim* is slated for a theater release on December 13.
