First-Look Photos: ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ Prequel Must-Sees

The STARZ Television Critics Association press tour panel recently delivered exciting news for fans of “Outlander” with the announcement of its spinoff series, “Outlander: Blood of My Blood.” However, no official premiere date was provided. Given this, it appears likely that the new series will debut in 2025.

Inspired by characters from Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling books, “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” promises to delve deeper into the lineage of beloved characters. First-look photos from the prequel, filmed exclusively in Scotland, have been unveiled. This series will focus on the lives and relationships of Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston (portrayed by Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (played by Jeremy Irvine), as well as Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie (depicted by Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (embodied by Jamie Roy).

The narrative will unfold across two different time periods, spotlighting these two parallel love stories from different eras. This structure aims to enrich the rich tapestry of family history central to the “Outlander” universe.

Fans of “Outlander” can expect a level of consistency in the writing and storytelling, as the production team for “Blood of My Blood” includes many of the same members from the original series. Matthew B. Roberts will serve as showrunner and executive producer, a role he also holds for “Outlander.” Joining him are Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, and Jim Kohlberg, who will serve as executive producers. Moore and Davis originally developed “Outlander” for television under their production banner, Tall Ship Productions.

“Outlander: Blood of My Blood” will be available across all STARZ platforms in the U.S., offering fans another captivating chapter in the “Outlander” franchise.
