First Trailer for ‘Skeleton Crew’ Reveals Jude Law as a Jedi

The first trailer for the new Disney+ Lucasfilm series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew premiered at the Honda Center during Disney’s D23 event in Anaheim, CA.

Jude Law graced the stage, sharing that the series brings to mind the Amblin kid fantasy films of the 1980s, similar to The Goonies .

“I fell in love with Star Wars when I was a ten-year-old boy. The series is told from the perspective of the kids,” Law mentioned.

The series is set to premiere this December.

In the trailer, young kids can be seen navigating through a space academy environment. They discover a tunnel in the woods, zip down it, find a ship, travel through hyperspace, face massive monsters, and even fire off turret guns. Jude Law, portraying a Jedi, is part of this thrilling venture. The series is notably geared towards a younger audience.

The Jon Watts-executive-produced Star Wars series is set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian and Book Of Boba Fett . It follows a group of ten-year-olds who find themselves lost in the expansive Star Wars universe. Watts, who announced the series at Star Wars Celebration 2022, emphasized, “It stars four kids but it’s not a kids’ show.”

The series’ writing team includes Christopher Ford, with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni serving as executive producers.

According to prior reports, Skeleton Crew was filmed in California. It is projected to expend about $136 million in qualified expenditures during its first cycle in the state, with an estimated tax credit of $20.9 million.
