Flau’jae Johnson and Lil Wayne Shine in New Music Video

Flau’jae Johnson has enlisted veteran rapper Lil Wayne for her new song “Came Out A Best.” Johnson, who released her debut project “Best of Both Worlds” earlier this year, has just dropped a new single featuring the New Orleans legend.

In the music video, Johnson and Lil Tunechi reminisce about Johnson’s triumph on Louisiana State University (LSU)’s national championship-winning women’s basketball team. The video depicts Johnson and Lil Wayne celebrating with the NCAA trophy that LSU won last year, marking the franchise’s first championship victory.

The visuals showcase Johnson during basketball practice, with a special appearance by her coach, Kim Mulkey. Lil Wayne joins later, and Johnson continues to highlight the significant win against the Iowa Hawkeyes. She doesn’t forget to appreciate the LSU fans, her teammate Angel Reese, and notable LSU alumni such as Joe Burrow and Shaquille O’Neal.

Johnson’s “Best Of Both Worlds” was released in June and includes features from Lil Wayne, NLE Choppa, and 2Rare.

“I love combining my two talents. Best of Both Worlds shows you don’t have to choose one path—you can excel in multiple arenas,” Johnson told Complex. “This project reflects who I am—a basketball player, a rapper, and someone who refuses to be put in a box. I hope my fans can feel the passion and dedication I’ve poured into every song.”

The point guard signed a deal with Roc Nation in 2019. Despite her music career taking off, she isn’t abandoning her dreams of making it to the WNBA.

“I wanna play the best of the best as a competitor,” Johnson said, discussing her post-college plans.

“It’s a long time until then,” Johnson added, “but it’s always been my dream to go to the WNBA since I knew that it was a league I could really compete in.”
