Flavor Flav Plans to Gift Jordan Chiles a Bronze Clock Necklace

The Olympics have had their share of heartbreak for Jordan Chiles, the U.S. gymnast who was recently stripped of her bronze medal by the International Olympic Committee. Chiles expressed her disappointment on Instagram over the weekend by posting four broken heart emojis. This followed a decision by the Court of Arbitration of Sport to reinstate her original fifth-place score in the women’s floor final.

However, rapper Flavor Flav hopes to lift Chiles’ spirits with a unique gesture. Known for his iconic clock necklaces, Flavor Flav has promised to create a bronze version of the necklace specifically for Chiles. He enthusiastically announced his plans on X, pledging to craft the custom piece for her.

“Ayyy YOOOO @ChilesJordan…imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE…and that’s something NO ONE else has!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu,!!!” he posted.

The controversy surrounding Chiles’ medal started on August 5. Chiles initially finished in fifth place but was promoted to third after the U.S. team filed an inquiry. The Romanian Gymnastics Federation, however, argued that the inquiry was filed too late. The arbitration court ruled in favor of Romania, causing the IOC to award the bronze medal to Romania’s Ana Bărbosu. Despite this, USA Gymnastics announced on Sunday that it would submit a new appeal.

Flavor Flav’s decision to make a custom necklace for Chiles is not surprising given his strong support for U.S. women’s sports teams. He recently gained attention as the official hype man for the U.S. women’s water polo team at the Olympics. This came about after team captain Maggie Steffens posted on Instagram seeking support.

“Water polo, women’s water polo specifically, may not be the most popular sport or on everyone’s radar,” Steffens noted. Nonetheless, she stressed that public support is crucial. “It means everything to us & impacts our sport more than most. You all are truly the team behind the team and we feel it and we need it!”

Flavor Flav responded positively to Steffens’ plea, commenting, “AYYY YOOO, as a girl dad and supporter of all women’s sports – imma personally sponsor you my girl,” Flav commented. “Whatever you need. And imma sponsor the whole team. My manager is in touch with your agent and imma use all my relationships and resources to help all y’all even more. That’s a FLAVOR FLAV promise.”

Flavor Flav was present in Paris, showcasing his iconic clock necklace while supporting various American teams.

On a brighter note, after winning her first individual Olympic medal, a bronze, on Monday, Jordan Chiles made an exciting announcement on the “Today” show. She revealed her plans to return to UCLA to continue her college gymnastics career.

“You all have been waiting for it — I am returning back to UCLA to represent the Bruins for my two remaining years of college,” Chiles said. “So you guys will see me back in Pauley [Pavilion] this season.”
