Fox News has elevated Trey Yingst to the position of chief foreign correspondent, as announced on Tuesday. Yingst, who has covered numerous conflicts and crisis situations around the globe, is stationed in Jerusalem. He gained notable recognition after becoming the first American journalist on the scene following Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023.

In an emotionally charged report from Israel last fall, Yingst was visibly moved to tears as he recounted the horrific acts of violence perpetrated by Hamas militants against civilians.

“During major breaking news in every corner of the world, Trey has been the eyes and ears on the ground for our viewers since 2018,” stated Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott in a note to the staff. “Trey’s indefatigable work ethic and dedication in multiple war zones has made him an incredible asset to Fox News, and we are extremely proud of his first-class journalism.”

Additionally, Yingst is set to author a book titled “Black Saturday,” which will draw from his reporting following the October 7 attack. The book promises to feature interviews with released hostages, Israeli soldiers, Palestinian civilians, as well as leadership from both Israel and Hamas.
