Frank Dillane’s New Film “Harvest” Premieres at 81st Venice Film Festival

Actor Frank Dillane, renowned for his captivating portrayal of Nick Clark in AMC’s Walking Dead spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, continues to make waves in the entertainment industry. Nick Clark, a troubled teen grappling with drug addiction, became an unexpected fan-favorite character, largely due to Dillane’s impressive performance. Moving forward, Dillane is set to star in the upcoming drama film, Harvest.

The movie, directed by the acclaimed Greek filmmaker Athina Rachel Tsangari, is an adaptation of Jim Crace’s Booker Prize-shortlisted novel Harvest. Tsangari collaborated with Joslyn Barnes to pen the screenplay, and the project was produced by Barnes, Rebecca O’Brien, The Match Factory, Tsangari’s Haos Film, and Meraki Film.

Leading the cast is Caleb Landry Jones in what Tsangari describes as a storyline of profound reckoning. Set over seven hallucinatory days in an unnamed village, the narrative unfolds in an undefined time and place where the village mysteriously disappears. Harvest is described as a tragicomic exploration of Walter Thirsk, a townsman turned farmer, and Charles Kent (portrayed by Harry Melling), lord of the manor. The two childhood friends confront an invasion symbolizing the traumas of modernity.

Joining Jones and Melling in the cast are Rosy McEwen, Arinzé Kene, Thalissa Teixeira, and Frank Dillane, completing a strong ensemble.

A teaser clip for Harvest has been released, following the completion of filming in Scotland.

Frank Dillane’s recent work includes starring alongside Louisa Harland in the Disney+ fantasy action-adventure series Renegade Nell. Unfortunately, the series was not renewed for another season.

Dillane has also been cast in a British true crime drama series titled Joan, alongside Sophie Turner. This six-part series is based on Joan Hannington’s memoir, I Am What I Am: The True Story of Britain’s Most Notorious Jewel Thief. It chronicles her evolution from a housewife and mother to a petty criminal, ultimately becoming a successful diamond thief and criminal mastermind. Dillane will portray an antique dealer named Boise.
