‘Freaky Friday’ Sequel Titled; Curtis & Lohan Hint at What’s Next

The Freaky Friday sequel has finally received its official title.

The second installment will be called Freakier Friday, stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis announced at D23 on Friday night.

Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao are all set to return for the sequel to the 2003 $160.8M grossing global family film. Joining the cast are new additions Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Jordan E. Cooper.

Nisha Ganatra, known for The High Note and Late Night, is directing the sequel. Kristin Burr and Andrew Gunn are producing the film.

The original Freaky Friday movie, directed by Mark Waters in the early 2000s, told the story of an overworked mother and her daughter who don’t get along. When they magically switch bodies, each is forced to adapt to the other’s life for one “freaky Friday.” The movie was a reboot of the 1976 Disney movie that starred Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris.
