‘Frozen 3’ Concept Art Revealed, 2027 Release; Jennifer Lee Hints at Another Sequel

Disney truly let it go at D23 tonight, presenting the first glimpse—specifically concept art—at the upcoming Frozen 3, the third installment in the beloved animated franchise that has amassed an impressive $2.76 billion at the global box office and garnered two Oscar wins.

Filmmaker Jennifer Lee remarked, “there were a lot of questions coming out of Frozen 2 …it will take two films to answer them.” This statement suggested, without explicitly stating, that there will be a Frozen 4. However, no logo for Frozen 4 was shown on the screen. Lee did confirm that Frozen III would be released in 2027, aligning with Disney’s traditional Thanksgiving release spot on November 24, 2027. This aligns with what Disney CEO Bob Iger mentioned on GMA back in November – that there is indeed a Frozen 4.

Lee then unveiled the first concept art for Frozen III: “It captures the scene of Anna and Elsa… Everyone at Disney animation is excited to be back in this world.”

The art displayed Elsa and Anna separately on horses, heading toward a summery horizon. Olaf was seen on the back of Anna’s horse. Interpret that as you will.
