‘Futurama’ Season 12: Danny Trejo, Cara Delevingne, LeVar Burton Among Guests

Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, and the cast of Futurama took center stage at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con to unveil the guest stars for the upcoming season.

The new season of Futurama is set to premiere on Monday, July 29 on Hulu.

Following Hulu’s 2023 revival of the iconic sci-fi series, Matt Groening and David X. Cohen bring back Futurama with ten fresh episodes. This season, the sometimes heroic crew embarks on thrilling, mind-bending adventures. Expect everything from deadly birthday party games and the secrets of Bender’s ancestral robot village, to A.I. friends and foes, irresistibly cute beanbags, and the ancient mystery surrounding coffee. Plus, fans will get to see the next chapter in Fry and Leela’s unforgettable, time-twisted romance.

The series continues to feature a stellar voice cast, including John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil Lamar, and David Herman. The show is created by Matt Groening and developed by Groening and David X. Cohen. Executive producers include Groening, Cohen, Ken Keeler, and Claudia Katz.

This season will also welcome an exciting roster of guest stars:

Danny Trejo takes on the role of Doblando, Bender’s cousin, leading Bender to their ancestral robot village in Mexico.

Renée Victor will voice Bender’s grandma, Abuelatron.

Tom Kenny will portray Gamester Alien, a gambling alien who forces the crew to play children’s games with deadly stakes.

Ana Ortiz steps in as Marquita, Bender’s love interest. Marquita is a champion of the robot matadors and Bender’s tutor in bug fighting—a noble art in their world.

Cara Delevingne appears as herself but with a futuristic twist, becoming a significant force in the world of future fashion.

Tim Gunn also joins, appearing as himself and covering Milan Fashion Week 3024.

Bill Nye will feature as himself, hosting the 3024 Inventors Awards.

Kyle Maclachlan will appear as himself, enjoying a cup of the universe’s finest coffee.

LeVar Burton will be represented as an unlicensed hologram of himself.

Neil deGrasse Tyson will play himself, solving the greatest mystery of all time through the power of science.
