FX Completes Filming for ‘Alien’ Series

Director and producer Noah Hawley has completed principal filming for FX’s highly anticipated Alien series. The award-winning creative described the series as “something special.”

“We are wrapped — just wrapped. I’m in post, editing away, and obviously there’s a large visual effects component that takes time. But I couldn’t be happier with the show we shot,” Hawley shared with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, July 17.

“If people wanted a television series based on the world of Alien, I think I’m gonna give them something special.”

Alien: Earth is not directly linked to the plot of Prometheus or Alien: Covenant. Instead, it will reportedly explore the concept of humanity being “trapped between its primordial parasitic past and its AI future.”

Under the direction and executive production of Hawley, the series will star Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, and Kit Young. Although there has been no official release date announced, fans are hoping to see the series on Hulu by July next year.
