Garbage Statement on Shirley Manson Injury, Tour Canceled

Garbage has issued a statement addressing Shirley Manson’s injury and the resulting cancellation of their tour dates.

In a social media post shared on August 1st, the band announced the cancellation of all their remaining 2024 tour dates. They plan to return to the stage in 2025.

“It is with great and sincere regret that we announce the cancellation of all our remaining tour dates for the rest of the year due to an injury that Shirley sustained on our recent tour in Europe that will require surgery and rehabilitation to correct,” the band wrote.

“This is not a decision we have taken lightly and we apologize wholeheartedly to our amazing fans and supportive promoters. We look forward to playing for you all again in 2025.”

While the band did not specify the type of injury Manson sustained, she assured fans in the post’s caption that she would be on tour if she could.

The exact show where Manson was injured is unclear. However, according to Setlist.fm, Garbage’s last concert was on July 20 at the OVO Arena in Wembley, England.

Prior to the band’s announcement, Ohana Festival revealed that Devo would replace Garbage in their lineup. In their statement, they wished Manson “a speedy recovery.” Garbage was originally scheduled to perform on September 27 alongside Pearl Jam, Crowded House, Maren Morris, Keanu Reeves’ Dogstar, and several others.

Garbage had a few other performances lined up for this year, including sets at Festival Hera in Mexico City and HFStival in Washington D.C.

As of now, there are no shows listed on the band’s website for 2025. Fans are advised to stay tuned for future tour announcements.

We wish Shirley Manson a swift and full recovery during this challenging time.
