Hollywood’s top stars, George Clooney and Brad Pitt, are set to ignite the Venice Film Festival this Sunday with the premiere of their latest film, “Wolfs”.

The film, an action comedy that features two professional “lone wolf” fixers, is a major highlight of the 10-day festival, playing out of competition on the glamorous Lido.

Fans eagerly await the arrival of the dashing duo, who are expected to arrive by water taxi in true Venetian style. Their world premiere is scheduled for Sunday evening.

This year, the 81st edition of the world’s oldest film festival is brimming with star power. Clooney and Pitt will follow other notable appearances by Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, and Angelina Jolie—Pitt’s ex-wife—who have already graced the red carpet.

Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton are expected on Monday, starring in a new film by Spain’s Pedro Almodovar, while Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix are set to dominate Wednesday’s events with the premiere of the “Joker” sequel, “Joker: Folie a Deux”.

In the Apple TV+ production directed by Jon Watts, Clooney and Pitt portray professional “lone wolf” fixers who are forced to collaborate after being called to clean up a high-profile crime.

Clooney and Pitt share more than just professional on-screen chemistry. Their easy rapport and self-deprecating humor were evident in the Coen brothers’ 2008 film “Burn After Reading” and the popular “Ocean’s Eleven” series.

The plot of “Wolfs” sees their characters experiencing an unexpected spiraling night, a situation neither had anticipated, as explained by the production, which has already announced a sequel.

Watts, who directed the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” trilogy featuring Tom Holland and Zendaya, brings his expertise to this new project.

The film will enjoy a limited theatrical release before making its debut on Apple TV+ globally on September 27.

Sunday’s lineup also includes the premiere of “The Brutalist” directed by Brady Corbet. The three-and-a-half-hour film stars Adrien Brody as a Hungarian Jewish architect embarking on a transformative project.

On Monday, Pedro Almodovar returns to the Lido with “The Room Next Door,” his first full-length English-language film, starring Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton.

Tuesday’s highlight will be Daniel Craig in the premiere of “Queer,” an adaptation of William Burroughs’ novel set in 1940s Mexico City.
