The mother of the alleged Georgia school shooter, Colt Gray, made a desperate call just moments before he opened fire. In this frantic plea, she conveyed her fears to school officials about an alarming conversation she had with her son.

According to Colt’s grandfather, Charles Polhamus, Marcee Gray received a troubling text from her son that read, “I’m sorry, mom.” This message triggered her emergency response.

Marcee was with Charles when she received the text. In a moment of urgency, she contacted Apalachee High School, informing a counselor that she was facing an “extreme emergency” regarding her son.

In later conversations with family members, Marcee recounted that she was the one who alerted the school counselor, urging them to take immediate action and find Colt.

The Washington Post reported that a school administrator began searching for Colt and arrived at his classroom just moments before the incident occurred. Unfortunately, he was already missing.

At the time she received the alarming message, Marcee was approximately three hours away from the school. Without hesitation, she jumped into her car, intending to reach Colt before any harm could come to him. However, as she drove, she began to hear reports of a shooting unfolding at the school.

In the aftermath, Marcee appeared visibly distraught as she arrived at her father’s home, carrying pillows and grappling with the gravity of the situation.

Colt Gray, only 14 years old, has faced serious charges including murder, and he will be tried in adult court. In a separate yet connected case, his father, Colin Gray, has been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of second-degree murder.

The situation escalated when it was revealed that Colin had gifted Colt with the AR-15 used in the shooting as a Christmas present. This troubling detail comes on the heels of an earlier FBI investigation that had taken place seven months prior, connected to an alarming online threat relating to a school shooting from Colt’s IP address.

Reports from neighbors raised concerns about the household’s environment, with multiple calls being made to Family Services expressing allegations of abuse and chaos within the home.

Colt’s grandfather expressed deep frustration and sorrow over the entire situation. He stated, “Collie Gray did this to his family and he will rot in hell for it. That’s a fact. He needs the death penalty. He is probably one of the worst narcissists in the world.”

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting discussions surrounding family dynamics, gun ownership, and the responsibilities that come with it.

The ramifications of this event will likely be felt for years to come, as families, school officials, and law enforcement grapple with the unsettling reality that such a tragedy could unfold in their midst.
