‘GH’ Fans Outraged Over Drew and Willow Storyline’s ‘Disgusting’ Turn

Drew and Willow have once again captured attention with their public flirtation on General Hospital. Despite backlash from fans who find the storyline ‘disgusting,’ the writers seem determined to continue this romantic plot. Here’s what happened.

Earlier this summer, GH viewers were stunned when Willow and Drew shared a kiss. The actors portraying these characters, Katelyn MacMullen and Cameron Mathison, were not caught off guard as they were informed of the scene in advance.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Katelyn MacMullen discussed the surprising kiss. She mentioned that the production team gave them a heads-up about the upcoming interaction.

“We did get a little heads-up. I think it was that Frank [Valentini, executive producer] came up to me and was like, ‘Just so you know, this is happening.’ And I was like, ‘Okay! Let’s do it!’”

MacMullen explained that the kiss was a result of the bond between Willow and Drew. “I think the feelings they’ve been feeling towards each other and maybe have been denying just sort of caught up with them. But at the same time, she loves Michael very much,” she remarked.

Unbeknownst to Willow, Drew had a secret affair with her mother, Nina (Cynthia Watros). Willow eventually confided in her mother about the kiss, although Nina chose not to disclose her own relationship with Drew. The plot thickens!

Despite Drew and Willow promising to keep their distance, they soon found themselves entangled again. The official General Hospital Instagram page shared a clip of Drew acknowledging Willow during a campaign trail speech.

This storyline has not been well-received by fans. The age gap between Drew and Willow has stirred significant controversy, with many viewers expressing their discomfort in the comments.

Fans have been urging the show to abandon this storyline. However, one GH fan speculated that the plot could get even more complicated if Willow and Drew might eventually sleep together, resulting in a pregnancy.
