GH’s Carolyn Hennesy Adopts an Adorable Dog!

It looks like General Hospital star Carolyn Hennesy headed to the East Coast to star in a play and came home with a furry new family member! The actress revealed on Instagram that during her recent trip to Massachusetts, she rescued a dog!

“Picked up a little something in the Berkshires,” wrote the GH star, introducing her followers to the furball who has already been causing quite a bit of havoc in her life! “The new addition went from being named Ernest to Bela Lugosi on account of biting me twice on our first full day together.”

Lugosi, of course, was the Hungarian actor famously known for his roles in many horror films, including the vampire Count Dracula in the 1931 classic Dracula. Thankfully, Bela seems to have grown more comfortable around Hennesy. “He has since mellowed… I hope,” she noted, adding that she had concerns about traveling with the dog. “I suspect there will be some ground beef hiding a trazodone tablet in the process.”

Despite their rocky first day together, Hennesy seems to be smitten with Bela, whom she met through NY-based design house Ivey Abitz, also the founder of Animal Saints Rescue Society. “He’s a gem of a boy,” she raved. “Thank you, Ivey Abitz, for introducing me to the newest family member.”

A long-time animal advocate and supporter of animal rescue programs, Hennesy concluded her post by noting that she felt her other fur babies had a part in her finding Bela while she was in Great Barrington, MA, doing the play “Survival of the Unfit” at Bard College. “I firmly believe that Sophie Tucker, Spanky Gene, and most especially Arbuckle, have sent him to me from afar, proving they are still watching and loving.”
