Glen Powell Joins Family Guy Halloween Special, Character Unveiled

Glen Powell will lend his voice to a character in an upcoming Halloween special episode of Family Guy.

Powell recently took the spotlight in the 2024 blockbuster “Twisters” alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, which is currently delighting audiences in theaters across the United States.

Now, according to Deadline, Powell will voice a character named Patrick McCloskey, a competitive pumpkin carver, in the upcoming Halloween-themed episode of Family Guy.

“Peter and his friends aim to unseat the reigning champion (Powell) in Quahog’s annual Pumpkin Contest by any means necessary,” states the synopsis for the episode, which premieres on October 14, 2024, on Hulu.

In addition to the Halloween special, a Family Guy Christmas episode is set to premiere on Hulu this coming December, although plot details for the festive episode remain a mystery at this time. The exact release date has not yet been announced.

Derek Jacobi will also return to voice Stewie’s beloved teddy bear, Rupert, in the Family Guy Halloween special.

Besides his role in “Twisters”, Powell has an impressive filmography, including notable roles in 2003’s “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over,” 2014’s “The Expendables 3,” 2016’s “Everybody Wants Some!!,” 2016’s “Hidden Figures,” 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” 2023’s “Anyone but You,” and 2023’s “Hit Man.”

Fans can look forward to seeing him in “Huntington,” a new A24 movie directed by John Patton Ford. The film features a star-studded cast, including Margaret Qualley, Ed Harris, Jessica Henwick, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, Raff Law, and Bill Camp. Powell is also set to star in a remake of “The Running Man,” directed by Edgar Wright of “Baby Driver” fame.

Created by Seth MacFarlane, Family Guy first aired in 1999 and has since become a staple of animated television, running for 22 seasons. Family Guy Season 23 is expected to premiere in 2025.

For those wanting to catch up or rewatch, the first 22 seasons of Family Guy are currently available for streaming on Hulu.
