Golfer Surprised Reporter Doesn’t Know Band Oasis

Last week’s news of the English rock band Oasis reuniting thrilled many fans eager to see Noel and Liam Gallagher perform together again.

The buzz reached deep into the sports media world, with broadcasters like Orioles announcer Kevin Brown visibly ecstatic.

However, not everyone shared this excitement, particularly those unfamiliar with Oasis.

On Wednesday, before the Tour Championship began in Atlanta, FanDuel correspondent Ali McCann had a light-hearted interview with PGA Tour star Shane Lowry. She asked him which celebrity he’d like to have a drink with if he had the chance. That’s when the Irish golfer discovered McCann had never heard of the band that has sold over 75 million records.

“So if you could grab a drink with any celebrity, pick their brain, who would it be and why?” McCann asked Lowry.

“I’d love to have a drink with Oasis,” he replied, then added, “You know Oasis is back together?”

When McCann looked puzzled, he clarified, “You know Oasis?”

“I don’t even know…” McCann started before Lowry interrupted.

“You don’t know who Oasis are?” he asked, clearly taken aback.

“No,” she confirmed.

“Oh my god, you’re obviously way younger than me,” Lowry said, shocked. “Like, this is the biggest news ever… You need to look up, Oasis.”

As Lowry laughed with several people off-camera, McCann apologized for derailing the interview. However, Lowry noted, “This is gonna make it good though.”

The PGA Tour golfer didn’t let the moment pass without having a bit of fun at McCann’s expense on social media afterwards.
