‘Good Morning America’ Viewers Urge for New Anchors

Good Morning America fans have experienced a change in their usual morning routine this week as Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan were all absent from the show. Interestingly, their replacements have created quite the buzz among viewers. Many fans are now calling for permanent changes to the anchor lineup, with one guest host in particular catching their attention.

Viewers felt a mix of excitement and disappointment as Sade Baderinwa, who stepped in as a guest host, returned to her regular job after two episodes of hosting Good Morning America. She made her final appearance this stint on Tuesday, August 27.

Last Friday, Good Morning America announced that Sade Baderinwa would be joining Gio Benitez and Whit Johnson at the desk on Monday and Tuesday. They temporarily replaced the usual hosts Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos. Surprisingly, Sade’s debut was so well-received that fans are now voicing their desire for her to become a full-time host on the morning show.

Social media buzzed with positive comments from fans about Sade’s presence on GMA. One fan shared their excitement by writing, “So happy to see Sade Baderinwa on GMA [heart emojis].” Another chimed in, “Sade Baderinwa is on GMA this morning, so happy for her.”

Another viewer strongly advocated for her to become a permanent addition, stating, “As a lifelong New Yorker, I’m not alone in saying more Sade please. Gio too.”

Yet another comment came in, “Love waking up to see Sade Baderinwa on GMA. Her smiling face makes me miss living in NYC!!!”

Sade has been a familiar face on ABC’s New York City affiliate WABC-TV since 2003. Currently, she co-hosts Eyewitness News at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. alongside Bill Ritter. Her work on Eyewitness News has also earned her a Daytime Emmy, furthering her reputation in the broadcasting world.

Whit Johnson introduced Monday morning’s episode of Good Morning America with, “Good morning America, so great to have you with us. And great to be here with Gio and WABC’s Sade Baderinwa.”

Sade herself lightheartedly acknowledged the time shift, commenting, “Our powerhouse station here, trading the late nights for the early mornings today.” With a couple of cups of coffee in front of her, she joked, “It’s very, very early. I’ve got my coffee here, ready to go.”

The new guest host also brought a bit of humor to the early show. In a funny moment, Sade mistakenly signed off with a “good night” instead of “good morning.” An amused viewer noted this on social media, “Did I hear a tiny…good night! at the signoff?” To which Sade responded, “Yes, you were right. I said good night. Old habits die hard. From night time to early mornings. I’ll be sure not to say that tomorrow.”

As Sade returns to her regular position, Good Morning America fans are left wishing for more. Many are rallying for her to become a permanent part of the GMA team, marking her brief stint as a memorable one.
