Gordo Calls DJ Mustard a “Strange Guy” While Defending Drake

Gordo has found himself amidst the ongoing tension between Drake and DJ Mustard, returning the “strange” vibes that Mustard has directed towards Drake recently.

Gordo, formerly known as DJ Carnage, recently praised Mustard for his accomplishments, calling him a “legend” but also branded him as a “strange guy,” humorously mirroring Mustard’s recent remarks about Drake.

“I will not tolerate any DJ Mustard slander,” Gordo wrote on X this past Sunday. “That guy is a f**king legend… made multiple classics… and had one of the most iconic runs ever as a producer… he’s just a strange guy.”

While Gordo seems to hold no hard feelings against Mustard, his close relationship with Drake has led him to stand by the rapper following his purported loss to Kendrick Lamar in a rap showdown.

He previously contested the idea that Drake was upset or dejected by the backlash and mockery he faced, asserting that the rapper is “happy as sh*t” despite how it looks.

“Ever since all this has happened… I’ve seen him happier,” Gordo said in an interview last month. “It’s really weird. He’s pretty jolly.”

“The internet makes it seem like, ‘Oh, that photo, he’s all sad and sh*t.’ That’s just a bad photo from a bad camera. But because it’s him, it’s put under a magnifying glass like, ‘Oh, look at his eyes. He’s looking a little droopy. He hasn’t slept.’ But the guy’s been happy as sh*t, to be honest. He’s chilling.”

Gordo has collaborated extensively with Drake in recent years, producing numerous tracks on the albums Honestly, Nevermind and For All the Dogs, including the popular single “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring Sexyy Red and SZA.

Drake also made guest appearances on Gordo’s recently released EP, Diamante, which was dropped in July.
