Gordon Ramsay Warns College Students: ‘Please Don’t Cook in Dorms’

Gordon Ramsay, the celebrity chef known for his stern and intense culinary advice, had a clear message for anyone considering cooking elaborate meals in their dorm rooms.

The 57-year-old reacted to a video of someone preparing “Surf & Turf grilled cheese in my dorm room” and had plenty to say about the experience. Ramsay posted the reaction video on Instagram with the caption, “If you’re moving into a dorm this autumn please don’t do this…. @lazypotnoodles.”

There were some key moves in the video that people might want to avoid, like when the person flambéed the dish. Ramsay emphasized the fire hazard, shouting, “It’ll set off those fire alarms!”

The next part of the video included a lot of steam, but Ramsay admitted, “I’m going to be honest, this is coming together.” While he seemed to think positively about the dish at the end, he warned people against attempting it in the accompanying caption.

Quite a few fans agreed with the fire alarm danger, commenting things like, “Impressive for a dorm room, fire alarm and sprinklers would go off in my son’s room for sure if he tried this 🔥,” and “FIRE ALARMS 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥.”

Along with the fire hazard, which is a valid point since college fire alarms are notoriously sensitive, Ramsay seemed to miss a major sanitary issue in the clip when the cook placed the raw steak on his laptop keyboard.

Many fans pointed it out with comments like, “Gordon: Why is there a light on the pepper mill? Everyone else: steak on laptop!” and “Gordon just going to ignore the fact he rested his steak on the laptop?”

Another user highlighted the unique way the person used a Scrub Daddy sponge to wash the veggies, writing, “Throwing the steak on the laptop keyboard and washing the veggies like that is wild 😭.”

With any luck, Ramsay will continue to grace fans with his reactions to more entertaining cooking videos.
