‘Gossip Girl’ Star Ed Westwick, Known for Controversy, Just Got Married

The actor Ed Westwick, known for his role as Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, has tied the knot. He recently shared celebratory photos of his wedding day with his new bride, Amy Jackson, on Instagram. The couple, who met in 2021, got engaged earlier this year. They exchanged vows on the picturesque Amalfi Coast in Italy on Saturday, August 24. Westwick proposed to Jackson, a Bollywood star, during a ski resort vacation.

For the special occasion, Jackson wore a white strapless gown and a lace veil crafted by Italian designer Alberta Ferretti. Westwick opted for a sophisticated look with an Armani white suit jacket, black pants, and a black bow tie. The couple chose a medieval castle nestled in the hills of Italy as their wedding venue. Neither of them have been married before.

The couple shared their joyous moments with People, where Jackson described the location as “the perfect place” while admiring its “timeless romance and vintage charm.” She added, “We wanted a wedding spot that was not only naturally beautiful, surrounded by the ocean, hills, and vineyards, but also unique, and we found just that. We sailed along the coastline of Ravello, Positano, and Sorrento and then anchored at Capri for a dip in the sea as the sun set behind the Faraglioni rocks.”

Jackson’s four-year-old son from a previous relationship took on the role of Westwick’s best man, alongside the actor’s friend Mike. Reflecting on the family moment, Jackson shared with People, “We both wanted [Andreas] to be an integral part of this special moment.” Westwick added, “He walked down the aisle with me, carried the rings, and waited for his mother with me.”

In a different phase of his life, Westwick was embroiled in controversy due to three allegations of sexual assault in the U.S. In 2018, the BBC reported that the Los Angeles District Attorney decided not to pursue the cases citing “insufficient evidence.” Westwick has consistently denied the “unverified and provably untrue” allegations that surfaced a year earlier when two women accused him of rape.

The prosecution concluded that the two witnesses’ accounts were not sufficient to establish guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Furthermore, the third alleged victim, who accused Westwick of unwanted touching, could not be reached.
