Gracie Abrams Shares Candid Thoughts on Collaborating With Taylor Swift

Gracie Abrams has opened for Taylor Swift on her wildly popular Eras Tour. But what does the young performer really think of the pop superstar?

Recently, Abrams, 24, gave her unfiltered opinion of Swift, 34.

“When I met her, it kind of felt like we had known each other already, which I’m sure there was an element of just like the parasocial relationship thing,” she told The Sunday Times in an article published on Aug. 11. “I’ve grown up with her voice in my headphones my entire life.”

The daughter of filmmaker J.J. Abrams added that Swift is “a safe place to land any time I’ve ever had any questions about anything.”

Now, Swift has become both a mentor and a friend to Abrams. And the “Shake It Off” singer evidently gives solid advice on treating back pain while on tour.

“She recommended an acupressure mat that really turned things around for me,” Abrams told The Sunday Times.

Previously, Abrams made a bold comparison about Swift, telling Jimmy Fallon: “It’s a real master class to watch her do what she does. I felt like I was at college for this job.”

She added: “[Swift’s] just so connected to her audience. And the relationship that they have with each other is—it’s really magical.”

In addition to opening for Swift on her Eras Tour, Abrams recently collaborated musically with the pop star. Swift was featured on her track “us.” from Abrams’ album The Secret of Us, released in June.

Abrams next opens for Swift in October, starting with her Miami, Fla., Eras Tour stop. She will continue the honor through New Orleans and Indianapolis and into Canada as Swift wraps up the record-breaking tour in Toronto and Vancouver.
