Grimes’ Mother Claims Elon Musk Is Keeping Kids Away from Her Family

Grimes’ mother, Sandy Garossino, is urging Elon Musk to allow her grandchildren to visit Canada. She accuses the Tesla CEO of “withholding” his three children with the indie artist, preventing them from seeing their family.

Garossino, a Canadian newspaper columnist and mother of the 36-year-old singer Claire Boucher (known as Grimes), reached out to Musk through the social media platform he owns. In a series of posts on X, Garossino pleaded with Musk to permit the children to travel to Canada to see their ailing great-grandmother.

“I’m writing here as the only way I have to reach you,” Garossino wrote on Saturday, July 27. “As you know, my 93-year-old mother is now in end-of-life palliative care. She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met.”

Garossino continued, “It was even more troubling to see you and [son X Æ A-Xii] on television at the Olympics in Paris after your DC trip earlier in the week. Where are the other children, and with whom? They are scheduled to be with their mother… I write with a grandmother’s plea, asking you to honor your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great-grandmother before she passes.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Elon Musk for comment on this matter.

Grimes and Musk share three children: X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 2, and Techno “Tau” Mechanicus. The pair split in March 2022. The plea from Garossino aligns with the ongoing tumult surrounding the former couple. Last year, Grimes expressed her frustrations on X, writing, “Tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer,” in a since-deleted post directed at Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson.

Elon Musk has 12 children in total. Six are with his first wife, Justine Wilson, three with Neuralink’s Shivon Zillis, and three with Grimes. In October, Grimes sued Musk over parental rights.

Garossino added in her plea, “Some moments in life last forever, and we get no second chances. Time is of the essence now.”

Grimes has not yet commented publicly on her mother’s plea. However, she did express that she is “endlessly proud” of Musk’s daughter, Vivian Wilson.

In a separate issue, Musk told conservative commentator Jordan Peterson that his transgender daughter, Vivian Wilson, was “dead — killed by the woke mind virus.” Wilson refuted this characterization on Threads and accused Musk of being an absentee father. “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn’t there,” she wrote.

The ongoing family dynamics between Musk, Grimes, and their relatives continue to unfold in a very public manner, bringing attention to the complexities and challenges of high-profile relationships and co-parenting. While the heartfelt plea from Grimes’ mother highlights the emotional aspects of the situation, the broader narrative involves legal battles and concerns about family responsibilities and connections.
