Gypsy Rose Blanchard Announces Pregnancy

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is embarking on a new chapter in her life as she prepares to become a mother. On Tuesday, she shared the joyous news via a YouTube video, announcing that she and her boyfriend, Ken Urker, are expecting their first child. The exciting revelation was captioned with, “Well…the rumors are true! Ken and I are so excited to start our family together and i can’t wait to share my journey with you here on YouTube and my other social media platforms. Thank you for all your support so far and i can’t wait to see our family grow.”

Blanchard also took to Instagram to share professional photos of herself and Urker, proudly declaring, “We are proud to announce we are expecting our first child in January 2025💗”

In the YouTube video, Blanchard opened up about her pregnancy journey, revealing that she is currently 11 weeks pregnant. She candidly admitted that the pregnancy was “not planned” and “completely unexpected,” but both she and Urker are enthusiastic about embarking on the path to parenthood.

Anticipating public opinion, Blanchard addressed potential concerns about her readiness to become a mother. “I know that there are going to be people who feel like I’m not ready to be a mother, and I don’t know if anyone’s really ready to become a mother,” she remarked. She assured her followers that she and Urker are in a good place and that her primary focus is on maintaining her health during this special time.

Blanchard shared her emotional perspective, saying, “It’s an amazing feeling when your whole world shifts. And suddenly it’s not about you; it’s not about anything other than the tiny little life that’s inside you that you are now in charge of protecting. And that little tiny life is a baby, a little tiny human that’s yours, that you have to make sure that you protect, you love, you take care of, and all of the things that I wished I could have had when I was little.”

Choking back tears, Blanchard continued, “All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby. Knowing that, I am a mother now, and I am happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn’t.”

To recap, Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to persuading her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. For years, Dee Dee had forced Gypsy to pretend she was suffering from severe illnesses, including leukemia and muscular dystrophy. Gypsy was released on parole from Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center on December 28 after serving 85% of her sentence.

Since her release, Gypsy Rose’s life has been a whirlwind. She faced unexpected fame, with paparazzi eagerly awaiting her first steps back into the world. One of her first tasks was shopping for a new pair of shoes, only to be greeted by flashing cameras. She also filed for divorce from her husband Ryan Anderson, whom she married while in prison, and reconnected with her former fiancé, Ken Urker, also a romance that began during her incarceration.

Blanchard’s post-prison life has been featured in two Lifetime docuseries: “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” which debuted in January and included interviews from her time in prison, and “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” which premiered in June and chronicles her life following her release.

In a May interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Blanchard discussed her new show and her relationship with Urker. When asked if she was happy, she responded, “Yes, I’m happy. I’m finally happy.”

She also acknowledged ongoing rumors about her pregnancy, mentioning that they would be addressed in her current Lifetime series. The season finale of “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up” is set to air on July 22.

Blanchard’s announcement marks a significant milestone in her life, as she prepares for motherhood and continues to share her journey with the world.
