Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Celebrates 33rd Birthday with Pregnant Joy and Ken Urker

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard celebrated her 33rd birthday on Saturday, July 27, with her boyfriend and former fiancé, Ken Urker. The special moment was shared over a birthday dinner, as Blanchard posted on Instagram alongside photos of herself with Urker, symbolizing the occasion with a red heart emoji.

This birthday held extra significance for Blanchard because it was her first one celebrated outside of prison in several years. Back in 2016, she received a 10-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Dee Dee was known to have falsely reported numerous health issues that her daughter suffered from, leading to unnecessary medical treatments.

Blanchard’s legal team had argued that she was a victim of abuse, suffering under her mother’s manipulation because Dee Dee allegedly had Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder that involves creating or exaggerating medical problems in others for attention and sympathy.

Released on parole in December 2023, after serving seven years in prison, Blanchard expressed her readiness for freedom while showing deep remorse for her actions. “No one will ever hear me say I’m proud of what I did or I’m glad that she’s dead. I’m not proud of what I did. I regret it every single day,” she told People in a pre-parole interview.

Following her release, life took several turns for Blanchard. Just three months out of prison, she filed for divorce from Ryan Scott Anderson, whom she had married in July 2022. Around this time, she rekindled her relationship with Urker, to whom she had been previously engaged.

In a YouTube Q&A session this past June, Blanchard declared she was the happiest she had ever been, attributing her joy to her newfound independence and personal choices. “I filed for divorce and I followed my heart to true love. I felt like I made that choice as a free woman. I made that choice as an independent woman, and I think everyone should follow their heart,” she shared with her followers.

The whirlwind didn’t stop there. Earlier this month, Blanchard announced on YouTube that she is expecting her first child with Urker, due in January 2025. She admitted the pregnancy was unplanned but expressed excitement about the impending journey into parenthood. “This was not planned at all. It was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood,” she revealed.
