Hailey Bieber Admits She’s ‘Not Super Close’ with Family During Pregnancy

Hailey Bieber revealed in a new interview with W Magazine, published on Wednesday, July 23, that she’s not particularly close with her family. As the 27-year-old model expects her first child with husband Justin Bieber, 30, she reflected on her upbringing, admitting that despite her distance from them now, she has very happy memories of her childhood.

Given the superstar status she and her husband enjoy, it’s easy to forget that Hailey hails from a very famous family. Hailey is a member of the Baldwin family, with her dad being Stephen Baldwin. Besides her father’s roles in Born on the Fourth of July and The Usual Suspects, her uncles Alec Baldwin, Daniel Baldwin, and Billy Baldwin are also prominent actors. Her mother, Kennya Deodato Baldwin, is a graphic designer.

Despite her celebrity lineage, Hailey claimed to have had a typical upbringing. “I had a fairly normal childhood. Obviously, I come from the family that I come from, and I always recognized that that was different,” she explained.

Addressing her current relationship with her family, Hailey said that her focus has shifted significantly towards starting her own family. “I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent. I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family,” she explained. However, she maintains fond memories of her upbringing, saying, “When I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories.”

Hailey announced her pregnancy in a May photoshoot. Since making the news public, she has shared various updates, including her strange pregnancy cravings and back pains.

During her W Magazine interview, Hailey disclosed that she and Justin are cherishing their final moments as a family of two. “In the beginning [of pregnancy], it was super emotional for me. Like, ‘I love this human so much. How can I possibly bring someone else into this?’” she confessed. “I’m trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us.”
