Haliey Welch stepped in to rescue the hat company selling her “Hawk Tuah” merch, injecting some cash to keep the business afloat.
Jason Poteete, founder of Fathead Threads in Lewisburg, TN, revealed to TMZ that Haliey recently lent his company $10,000 during a critical time, helping to save the business.
Despite the brand’s “Hawk Tuah” hats selling rapidly since Hailey went viral last month for a NSFW street interview, a significant portion of the $190,000 in sales were frozen in a PayPal account.
Jason explained he couldn’t access the funds because PayPal suspected fraudulent activity due to the large volume of sales in a brief period, leaving him unable to fulfill outstanding orders.
Haliey’s business partner mentioned they had approximately 2,500 orders to fill with only $2,000 accessible from the PayPal account and needed additional funds to cover manufacturing, shipping, and other expenses.
Initially, Jason reached out to family members for financial support and even attempted to get a loan from the bank to fulfill the orders, causing him extreme stress and anxiety.
Enter Haliey. Jason informed Haliey about the situation last Friday. She receives a portion of the Hawk Tuah merch sales, and Jason wanted to make sure she didn’t think he was withholding money from her.
Upon hearing the story, Haliey offered to lend him the $10,000 needed to keep the business running, a gesture that left Jason elated.
Since Haliey’s loan, Jason stated that things have improved significantly at Fathead Threads. He mentioned that PayPal eventually released $90,000 of the company’s earnings. Although some funds remain locked, Jason is certain that Haliey’s intervention was crucial in saving the business.
