Halle Berry seemingly discovered the secret to eternal youth when she made a dazzling appearance in New York on Thursday. The actress looked stunning in a chic jumpsuit, just days after celebrating her 58th birthday.
Halle wore a black and gray striped jumpsuit paired with gold jewelry and black, open-toed heels. To complete her ensemble, she let her short, wavy brunette hair flow freely.
The actress appeared on Good Morning America to promote her upcoming film, “The Union,” and to discuss her menopause journey with host Robin Roberts.
“I was 54 years old, and no doctor that I had dared to talk to me about it,” she shared about her experience with menopause. “It was as if this never happened to me.”
She expressed her disbelief, saying, “I thought, ‘Wow, if I have one of the best doctors in California and he didn’t really understand what this was, there must be millions of women that don’t understand this.’
Initially misdiagnosed with herpes, Halle now dedicates her time to raising awareness about perimenopause and breaking the stigma surrounding it.
“It’s not a disease; don’t make it a negative. Let’s talk about it and figure out what we can do,” she said. “I want 35-year-olds to start thinking about, ‘Oh, that’s coming,’ and I want them to start understanding through great doctors and books available now what they can do to ease into this time of life in the best possible way.”
She continued, “Don’t be afraid of it; be fearless about it.”
The mother of two has always been open about her health and fitness journey. Since being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a young woman, Halle has maintained a healthy lifestyle and works out several times a week.
She told Shape in 2023, “Being diagnosed with diabetes at such a young age put my focus on my health and established a wellness routine that has allowed me to age gracefully. It was a negative that I turned into a positive.”
Her dedication to fitness hasn’t gone unnoticed. Her personal trainer, Peter Lee Thomas, spoke to People about her commitment.
“If Halle wasn’t an actress, she could easily transition into becoming a professional athlete if coached correctly,” he said.
“She’s not afraid to experiment, explore, and take risks when it comes to fitness. She understands that potential growth and change require doing things that are often difficult.”
In a 2018 interview with E! News, Thomas detailed their training schedule, revealing that they meet five days a week.
“She’s dedicated. She doesn’t mess around,” he praised. “It’s like preparing for war. There’s an objective and a goal.”
