Halle Berry’s Surprising Response to Offer for Storm Return (Exclusive)

Deadpool & Wolverine has been making waves since its release, thrilling fans with high-octane action and numerous surprising Marvel cameos. Before the film’s launch, there was speculation that Halle Berry would reprise her role as Ororo Munroe/Storm from the original X-Men movies. This buzz was partly fueled by Berry posting a photo of herself sporting a shorter version of Storm’s iconic white hair earlier in 2023, leading many to believe she might be filming something new as the character.

However, as fans have now discovered, Berry’s Storm does not make an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. During an interview at the red carpet premiere for Netflix’s The Union, Berry shared some insights into why that wasn’t the case. She confirmed that she had been approached to reprise her role as Storm in the Deadpool franchise, but interestingly, it wasn’t by Ryan Reynolds, the star and producer of the series.

“No,” Berry replied when asked if there had been discussions about her returning for the movie. “Blake [Lively] asked me one time; I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me.”

The storyline of Deadpool & Wolverine is a thrilling addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film sees Deadpool, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, altering the history of the MCU with the help of Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. Fans are excited to see the chemistry between Deadpool’s quirky, irreverent humor and Wolverine’s gritty, stoic nature unfold on the big screen.

The ensemble cast also includes Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, and the return of Deadpool alums such as Morena Baccarin (Vanessa Carlysle), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Stefan Kapicic (Piotr Rasputin/Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Rob Delaney (Peter), and Lewis Tan (Shatterstar). Additionally, Aaron Stanford is back as Pyro from the X-Men series, and there are rumors of Jennifer Garner reprising her role as Elektra Natchios.

The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, and Lauren Shuler Donner, with Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, George Dewey, and Simon Kinberg serving as executive producers. The writing team comprises Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Shawn Levy. Deadpool & Wolverine premiered exclusively in theaters on July 26th.

This film represents yet another entertaining chapter in the interconnected world of Marvel movies, drawing audiences with its unique blend of humor, action, and beloved characters. The addition of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to the mix only heightens the anticipation and excitement around this latest release.
