Harris Raises Over Double Trump’s $130M Fundraising Total in August

Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has significantly outpaced Donald Trump’s fundraising efforts, bringing in over $300 million in August alone, according to reports.

Since stepping in for President Joe Biden at the front of the Democratic ticket in July, Harris has experienced a surge in financial support.

This momentum shows no signs of waning as the Vice President recorded over $300 million raised last month, as verified by two sources familiar with Harris’s fundraising, although an exact figure was not provided.

In comparison, Trump’s campaign raised $130 million during the same time frame.

The Independent has reached out to the Harris campaign for additional details.

The Democratic Party has witnessed a notable increase in financial backing since Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, began their campaign efforts. Following the Democratic National Convention, the Harris campaign disclosed that they had raised over $540 million since Harris replaced Biden.

A portion of this funding has been allocated for an advertising blitz and for bolstering down-ballot races.

In August, the Harris–Walz campaign announced plans to invest more than $200 million into digital advertising, aiming to connect with voters through their mobile devices and online platforms. For the duration of nine weeks, advertisements will be broadcast on Hulu, Roku, YouTube, Spotify, and other channels, predominantly targeting key battleground states.

The campaign also stated that they are earmarking $170 million for television ads to be aired on various cable news networks.

To support down-ballot races further, the campaign, in conjunction with the Democratic National Committee, has committed to providing $25 million to various Democratic campaigns at both congressional and state levels.

On the other side, Trump’s campaign reported having around $295 million cash on hand at the close of August, which reflects a slight decrease from the previous month.

The Trump campaign mentioned that over 98 percent of the donations received in August were small contributions, each under $200.

“These fundraising numbers from August reflect the momentum we’re building and will help propel President Trump’s America First movement back to the White House, allowing us to reverse the negative impacts of Harris and Biden’s administration,” commented Brian Hughes, a senior adviser for the Trump campaign.
