Harry & Meghan’s Distracting Honeymoon in Colombia

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, headed to Colombia on August 15 to tour the country. Much like their tour of Nigeria in May 2024, their latest trip has stirred controversy. Some people are questioning their decision to tour other countries similar to the royal family while no longer being working royals. However, their behavior during this trip is capturing attention for a completely different reason.

The couple looked particularly affectionate and comfortable, proving their happiness in being free from royal constraints. The Sussexes’ trip was aimed at promoting “The Parents’ Network,” which was founded in 2023 as part of their Archewell Foundation. This network supports parents affected by the negative impacts of social media on their children, including cyberbullying and mental health issues.

Despite the serious nature of their cause, Harry and Meghan were clearly enjoying themselves. They were not shy about expressing their love for one another throughout their trip. Whether cozying up on a dance floor in Cali or visiting The National Centre for the Arts in Bogotá, the couple’s affection for each other was on full display.

On August 17, the Sussexes visited a youth organization in Cali, Colombia, where they danced salsa and hip hop alongside locals. The couple didn’t just show off their dance moves; they also displayed plenty of public affection. A video of Prince Harry and Meghan dancing shows them smiling, laughing, and even sharing a kiss.

This event was not an isolated incident. Harry and Meghan continued their displays of affection throughout the trip, highlighting how much they were enjoying both Colombia and each other’s company.

Their affectionate behavior is nothing new. Former palace spokesman Dickie Arbiter told People in 2018 that “Meghan is used to being touchy-feely, and Harry is the same,” adding that “Harry has always been tactile.”

Even though Harry and Meghan still engage in some behavior reminiscent of the royal family, they no longer have to follow royal rules. It was evident that they took full advantage of this freedom during their Colombia trip. While the royal family rarely engages in public displays of affection, Harry and Meghan appeared to fully embrace the opportunity to celebrate their love and perhaps their sixth wedding anniversary, which was in May 2024. Whatever the reason, they certainly looked happy.
