Harry Styles and Stevie Nicks Tribute to Christine McVie at Hyde Park Concert

Harry Styles and Stevie Nicks performing together

Harry Styles joined Stevie Nicks during her headlining set at the BST Hyde Park concert series on Friday for a memorable duet performance. The two artists sang “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” and “Landslide.” Before bringing Styles onto the stage, Nicks shared with the London audience that she had asked him to help her honor her late Fleetwood Mac bandmate, Christine McVie, on what would have been her 81st birthday.

“At the end of the show, since the end of last year and since Christine passed away, I would say something about her. I asked Harry to do this with me, and it’s a lot to ask someone to sing a heavy song about a best friend who died so suddenly and so sadly,” Nicks expressed. “What I want to say to you is that Christine was Harry’s girl, she was my girl, she was your girl, and she loved all of you, and today would’ve been her birthday.”

This performance marked Styles’ first stage appearance since concluding his “Love On Tour” series on July 22, 2023, in Italy. His most recent album, “Harry’s House,” released in 2022, received a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. While Styles has maintained a low profile over the past few months, his return to the stage with Nicks was a poignant reminder of his musical prowess and deep connections within the industry.

Nicks also took a moment to share a personal reflection with the crowd at BST Hyde Park, explaining how she copes with significant losses: “One thing that my mom used to say to me when I was little was… When I was hurt, she’d go, ‘Stevie, when you’re hurt, you always run to the stage.’ And that’s what I’ve been doing since Chris passed away.”

The BST Hyde Park concert series has an impressive lineup, including performances from Kings of Leon, Kylie Minogue, the Corrs, Stray Kids, Shania Twain, Robbie Williams, and Andrea Bocelli. Nicks, as a headliner, brings her unique blend of rock and heartfelt storytelling to the stage, capturing the essence of what live music is all about.

Nicks’ performance, bolstered by Styles’ guest appearance, served as both a tribute to McVie and a testament to the enduring power of music to bring people together, even in times of sorrow. The emotion shared on stage resonated deeply with fans, making it a night to remember for everyone in attendance.
