Shannen Doherty revealed that her father’s health issues were a significant factor in her departure from “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1994. In an interview with Digital Spy in 2014, she shared, “I was having a lot of personal issues that I had to come to terms with, like my dad being as sick as he was, and that was definitely hurting me more than I knew, emotionally.” This emotional strain became more apparent as her father’s condition worsened.

In 2010, Shannen decided to join “Dancing with the Stars” after her father suffered a debilitating stroke. Tragically, he didn’t get to see her perform much, as she was eliminated in Week 1. A few months later, Shannen mourned the loss of her father, expressing in a statement to People, “I love him with every inch of my being and cannot imagine life without him.”
